Mike on a Bike!

For several years now, Mike Moore has served on the Wolfe Street Foundation Board of Directors and as an advocate for recovery. This year, Mike is repeating his birthday tradition bringing support to the Wolfe Street Foundation and its mission to help people survive and recover from alcoholism and addiction!

Here's what Mike had to say:

"When I walked into the Wolfe Street Center 20 years ago I was broken, sick, helpless and hopeless. The help, fellowship and new direction I was given freely allowed me to rebuild myself and become healthy, happy and full of hope. I was told that my only responsibility was to give back what I was so freely given. I hope to be able to do a little of that on Sunday June 26. So here’s the deal.

Since I will be turning 65(crap I hate saying that) the day before, I'm going to ride my bike 130 miles on the Little Rock river trail (if it’s worth doing it’s worth overdoing). I am donating 5 dollars per mile that I ride to Wolfe Street to continue helping.
Since I can’t do it by myself and I need help(two things I learned at Wolfe Street), I am also donating one dollar per mile for every mile any of my friends ride with me or just come out to ride in support. You, of course, are welcome to donate directly to Wolfe Street if the spirit moves you.

We will be set up at Pavilion 3 at Murray Park by 6 AM on 6/26. I will start hopefully by 6:30 and will do 20 mile loops so you can join when ready. I hope to have a 17-18 mph rolling pace. Please come out to ride or just hang out. I hope to be finished by 2 PM."

How Can You Help?

2. Join Mike for a leg of his ride! Mike's donating a dollar for every mile ridden by those who join him. You can ride one mile or 130 miles - or any distance in between. Come to Murray Park Pavilion 3 any time between 6:30 AM and 1:00 PM for best ride times.

3. Join us to celebrate! Come cheer Mike and other bikers on from Murray Park's Pavilion 3.

So What is the Wolfe Street Foundation?

We help people survive and recover from alcoholism and addiction. Since 1982, people have been gathering at the Wolfe Street Center for Twelve Step recovery meetings - including Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon family meetings. Today, we host more than 50 support meetings every single week at our Recovery Community Center located at 1015 S. Louisiana Street in Little Rock. These meetings include AA, NA, Al-Anon, Medication Assisted Recovery Anonymous, Codependents Anonymous, community-based meetings, and faith-based meetings - all striving to help people find community and recovery through multiple pathways.
